Precision agriculture is seen as one of the solutions for the future of agricultural practices. Working with GPS, variable spraying, fertilizing using task maps, or flying drones. For some farmers, it's already a reality, while for others, it's still far from their daily practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precision Agriculture: Where to Begin?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In two growing seasons and 8 sessions, you will implement your personal precision agriculture plan. Under expert guidance from Dacom and HLB, a specially designed program will be followed. In the first season, questions will be answered such as 'how can I gain more insight into my fields, what data is already available, can connections be made between the data, and what benefits does it bring me'. In the second season, the focus will be on implementing precision agriculture in practice on your own farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project Basic Precision Agriculture Package<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The course is part of the project \"Basic Package Precision Agriculture\" within the framework of POP3 Cooperation for Innovations in Northern Netherlands. The project, initiated by Dacom Farm Intelligence, HLB, Siebring Akkerbouw, and Boerenbedrijf Beuling, has the motto 'Innovation through Simplification'.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precision agriculture is rapidly evolving, with technological advancements occurring at a fast pace, and seemingly nothing is impossible in the future. In practice, many farmers are eager to take steps in precision agriculture, but they often face challenges such as where to begin, which systems to acquire, and how to keep up with all the developments. These are all questions that farmers struggle with. With all the advancements in precision agriculture, many farmers find it challenging to navigate through the multitude of options available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenge in the Basic Precision Farming Package project is to make the \"basic principles\" of precision agriculture accessible to a large number of farmers. By making a clear choice in the control options, a basic system is developed that is easily applicable within regular agricultural operations. Testing the package with a select group, the leaders of the pack, ensures a good connection with the agricultural practices of the pack and demonstrates to this select group that precision farming can be applied to many agricultural businesses and is not only suitable for large highly developed farms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The added value of the innovation in this project under the POP3 subsidy is not the maximum potential for an individual farm but a feasible application for a large number of agricultural businesses in Groningen, Friesland, and Drenthe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
