September 7, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — CropX Technologies, Inc., a company providing digital solutions for agricultural management, is contributing to European biodiversity goals by helping farmers adopt agricultural practices that protect key species. Through a long-term partnership with BoerenNatuur, an organization of 40 farmer cooperatives throughout the Netherlands, CropX has built and maintains the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) system, which assists farmers in voluntarily applying for subsidies to implement conservation practices.

CropX has a history of collaborating with customers to build digital tools that support sustainable agricultural practices. Using the digital system developed by CropX, farmers receive over 85 million euros annually to implement practices such as delaying hay harvesting to allow nesting birds to complete their breeding cycle and creating flower-rich borders to increase available habitat for insects.
For BoerenNatuur, the digital registration and mapping system developed by CropX replaces time-consuming paperwork for both the farmers and the cooperatives, the members of BoerenNatuur.
Evelien Verbij, director of BoerenNatuur, said: "We are very pleased with the valuable input provided by CropX in addressing the various challenges we face. Together, we are building a sustainable and efficient ICT system that supports cooperatives and farmers in their important work for biodiversity in rural areas."
The relationship started in 2013 with a pilot project involving 300 farmers, and as the capabilities of the system grew, so did the number of participants. Now, there are more than 11,000 farmers involved, which accounts for approximately 20% of farms in the Netherlands.
"I am proud of our efficient collaboration with BoerenNatuur. This means that the available budget can be used for its intended purpose: protecting biodiversity in the Netherlands," says Janneke Hadders, CEO of CropX Europe.
